I'm a 30-something native midwesterner, who moved to fell in love with the southern U.S. during graduate school. I've been back in the midwest for several years, but often feel more like a transplant than a native. I have a magnolia tree in my front yard, because I love magnolias and because my hope for the tree is the same as for me that I can flourish in a new home.
